Lenzkirch Clocks, was one of the leading companies in the Black Forest clock production. Founded in 1851, the company produced and sold in over 80 years of existence, well over 2 million clocks. Lenzkirch Clocks was taken over after financial difficulties by the company Junghans and disbanded in August 1929.
In 1840 Eduard Hauser (born August 21, 1825; † 1900) in Lenzkirch trained as a watchmaker in the workshop of master 
organ builder Ignaz Schöpperle (1810 † 1882). Shortly after his training Hauser turned to the manufacture of clocks and traveled to the former watchmaker centers in England, France and Switzerland. At that time the Black Forest clock suffered from low quality and lack of precision. They were less effective, made mostly in home offices and with inferior materials. Hauser brought from his travels knowledge of efficient mass production and the use of precision machines.
Together with Schöpperle he opened a clock-making company in the organ factory and employs 14 employees with the manufacture of precision clocks and parts. In 1899 Eduard Hauser retired from work after 47 years on the company.
A production of large pendulum clocks in the Viennese style established the worldwide reputation at the industrial exhibition in Villigen in 1860 and a year later in Karlsruhe, the clocks, each received a gold medal. The products manufactured by the company Lenzkirch clocks and watches enjoy an excellent reputation today.
For their products, the company won 15 awards at international exhibitions, including: 1854 Munich, - 1860 Villingen, - 1861 Karlsruhe, - 1862 London, - 1867 Expo Paris, - 1875 Chile, - 1877 Philadelphia, - 1888 Exposicion Universal de Barcelona.
